Information and Communication Technology is a vital part of development in today’s modern society.
Our Vision
Here at Moreton we have a commitment to ensure that not only do we fulfil our statutory obligations but
to ensure that students leave with the right skills set in preparation for employment requirements or that
are required for further education.
Our provision
We have a progressive approach to teaching ICT. In KS3 students are prepared with basic ICT skills
including Word Processing, Desktop Publishing, Web Designing, Image Manipulation, Introduction to
Spreadsheets and Databases and many more. Students are also taught organisational skills such as using
files and folders to ensure efficient and systematic storage of work. These skills are developed through
lesson delivery and extra-curricular ICT provision. Our staff are committed to ensuring that students are
constantly engaged and therefore deliver student friendly lessons. Students are encouraged to make
choices about appropriate technologies to use and lessons are planned to relate to uses of ICT in
contexts both in school and in the society at large.
Our Facilities
The School is committed to ensuring ICT provision for all and currently has 4 dedicated ICT suites, a
computer-furnished Library and a suite in the 6th-Form Centre. Whiteboards / Interactive boards are used
in delivery. In addition to delivering regular ICT, Computer Suites are available for booking to facilitate
cross-curricular use.
ICT services are managed on site by a team of dedicated Network Managers.
