Community ADULT LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES There are many adult and family learning opportunities here at Moreton, with many events in the pipeline – such as “Families Get Cooking”, Basic literacy classes and others. Family Technology events, where parents come along and take part with their sons or daughters. Last year parents and children made and decorated Christmas cakes, as well as designing and making Christmas cards using our state of the art CAD / CAM machinery. HEALTH AND FITNESS The newly opened fitness centre is open for staff and students, and in the near future, the local community will be able to use this marvelous facility. This centre also runs after school as well. Watch this space for further details of opening times. COMMUNITY USE Many local dance and drama clubs have taken advantage of hiring our facilities to put on performances for the local community. We are also looking at extending this to the use of the sports field, with local youth groups using the football pitch. PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION In the next few weeks we are creating a new “Parent Teacher Association”- this will give parents an opportunity to raise any issues about the school with likeminded parents and carers, the association will also be involved in fundraising events for the school. There will be a planned meeting for all those interested –please keep your eye on this web site for more details. HOMEWORK (Independent Study and Extended Independent Study) In the morning we have the school library open for students from 8.00 a.m.- a place where students can get help with their studies and use the ICT facilities - This is also available after school until 4.30 as well. We also have a breakfast club, open from 8 o’clock for Moreton students - why not come along, socialise, and have your breakfast with friends.
